Hong Kong Weather

Hong Kong has a monsoon-influenced humid sub-tropical climate and it is temperate for nearly half the year. The average annual temperature is 23°C (73°F) and the city is a year round destination for travel although October to Christmas is the best period. Most of the rain falls between May and September. The wettest month is August while the driest is January. Late May to mid September is the typhoon season in Hong Kong. Do not venture out too far when the typhoon is level 3 and stay indoors when it’s higher.

Four Seasons in Hong Kong
Spring - from  March  to  mid-May,  the  weather  is  warm  and  humid.  Light  overcoat  and  a  sweater  are  needed  in  this  season.
Summer - from  late  May  to  the  mid-September,  the  weather  is  hot,  humid  and  unstable  with  frequent  thunderstorms  and  brief  showers.  The  city  is  frequently  hit  by  typhoons  in  this  season.  Bring  an  umbrella  and  dress  lightly  in  cotton.
Fall - from  late  September  to  November,  the  weather  is  cool,  dry  and  pleasant  with  plenty  of  sunshine.  Short-sleeved  T-shirts  plus  a  thin  overcoat  is  enough.
Winter - from  December  to  February,  the  weather  is  dry  and  cool.  Wool  sweater  and  heavy  coat  is  suitable  wear  in  this  season.
Best Time to Visit

Hong  Kong  is  an  all-year-round  destination  and  the  best  time  to  visit  is  from  the  mid  September  to  December  when  the  weather  is  cooler  without  typhoon.
