Guilin Transportation
As a full-blown tourist city, Guilin is has developed transportation, and visitor can choose airway, railway or highway to arrive there. What’s more, waterway also is an option if it is available to you.

The taxi fare in Guilin is charged by distance and includes a per-journey oil price surcharge of RMB 1. The distance fare is RMB 7 for the first 2 kilometers, and RMB1.6 per kilometer for the next 2 km. Rates are slightly higher (RMB7.8) after11.00pm.
Guilin Liangjiang International Airport is located 28 km from Guilin city center. Now it has more than 60 international and domestic flight lines, including flights to about 30 main cities in China, Hong Kong, Macau, Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia), Bangkok (Thailand), Cheju (South Korea) and Fukuoka (Japan).
Airport Transportation
1. You will find the airport shuttle bus no matter how late it is, and the terminal is Aviation Building. The charge is CNY 20/person, and it takes about 40 minutes.
2. Airport Shuttle Bus starts off at the Aviation Building in the downtown, 30 minutes interval for each, and you’d better arrive at the station before 2 hours earlier than your flight department.
3. If you are in Guilin Railway Station or Bus Station, you can take city bus to get down at the stop of Anxing Community. Aviation Building sits opposite.
4. It is about CNY 80-100 to take taxi to the airport.

Long-distance Bus
Guilin highway extends to cities in Guangxi and the neighboring provinces. There are three bus stations, of which, Guilin General Bus Station is the busiest one, which sit in the city center near South Railway Station. It mainly operates buses to counties and suburbs in Guilin, and buses to cities within Guangdong and Hunan provinces.
North Gate Bus Station has buses to Xing’an and Lingchuan counties.
City Bus
Guilin City Bus can reach every corners of the city. The most are self-service ticketing buses, and generally, the ticket is charged CNY1 around downtown, but CNY2 for air-conditioning buses or buses to suburb.
Guilin is the first city to push Free-bus policy. The free-buses in the eight lines head to main blocks, famous attractions and scenic areas, and you can judge it by 5 as the first number. It operates during 8:00 to 17:00.
Guilin Railway Station, also the South Station, is the main passenger service station. It is located in downtown, at the junction of Shanghai Road and South Zhongshan Road. Guilin also has a North Railway Station as the starting station of Guilin, but it is suggested to pass in and out at the South Station because of the convenient transportation.
Tips:
1. There is city bus No. 1, 99 and 100 running between the South and North Railway Stations.
2. You can find Guilin General Bus Station beside the South Station. When you go out of the railway station and turn left, about 10 minutes.
3. It is not easy to buy the sleeping berth ticket at the ticket window to northern China, so you should buy that in advance.
It is a good idea to rent a bicycle to wander around Guilin downtown. You can rent one in hotel or inn and the trunk road. It is charged by hours or days, and about CNY 10-15/day with a deposit about CNY 100-300.
Guilin waterway is concentrated on Lijiang River. In general, passengers go along the Lijiang River and via Wuzhou to Zhujiang River, and then to Guangzhou, Hong Kong, and Macau.
Guilin has two passenger transport docks to service passengers: Mopanshan Dock (for domestic visitor) and Zhujiang Dock (for foreign visitor).
Mopanshan Dock is located in Lingchuan County, 30 km from Guilin City, about 40 minutes driving. If you take a cruise tour to Yangshuo, the ticket is CNY 210/person and CNY800/person for luxurious cruise tour and the charge includes one meal. It takes about 4 hours.
Zhujiang Dock is 32 km southeast of Guilin City, and about 45 minutes driving. Visitors can take the luxurious cruise tour to Yangshuo, and the ticket is CNY320. The ticket includes one meal.
