Seven Star Park, the largest comprehensive park with mass scenery in Guilin City, ranks among the top lists of attractions in Guilin and draws tourists from near and far.

Located at the east bank of Li River, Seven Star Park is about 1.5 kilometers from downtown of Guilin. Covering an area of over 120 hectares, it is the largest comprehensive park with mass scenery in Guilin City.

Endowed with elegant mountains, clear water, miraculous stone forest, deep and serene valleys, plentiful animals and plants and valued cultural relics, the Seven Star Park has many highlights that can not miss such as the Seven Star Cave, Flower Bridge, Putuo Mountain, Camel Hill, Crescent Mountain, Guihai Stele Forest and Light of China Square. What’s more, these sights have been popular since Sui Dynasty and Tang Dynasty in China.

Highlights

Putuo Mountain

Putuo Mountain, where Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva is worshiped, is the main body of the park. It abounds with caves and pavilions. Among them, the Seven Star Cave is the most famous one. In spite of the exquisite sceneries in the mountain, the cultural relics are enough to make visitors astonished for there are over 200 pieces of stone inscriptions.

Seven Star Hill

Perched in the east bank of Li River, the Seven Star Hill is composed of seven cliffs which are endowed with fantastic names. Their elevation respectively are 265 meters, 255 meters, 248 meters, 245 meters, 255 meters, 241 meters and 250 meters. Almost lies in a horizontal line, they are distributed as the Big Dipper in the outer space, hence the name. Covering an area of 51.5 hectares, it is reputed for its numerous caves. Apart from the Seven Star Caves, there are Yuanfeng Cave, Xuanwu Cave, White Crane Cave, Four Fairy Rock and Zenggong Rock.

Seven Stars Cave

Located in the hillside of Mountain Putuo, Seven Star Cave is one of the top attractions in China. It is a passage of old underground stream with a history of one million years. With the total length of 1,100 meters, it is decorated with a series of natural stalactites and stone pillars. Seven Star Cave is divided into three parts. The middle layer is allowed to be appreciated for it remains 20? all the year round which endows it the reputation of “Residence of the Immortals”.

Flower Bridge

Flower Bridge, built in the Song Dynasty (960 - 1279), is the oldest bridge in Guilin. Located in the front door of the park, it is 135 meters long crossing over the confluence of the Little East River and Lingjian River. Galleries, pavilions are arranged on the bridge with the design of folk style. Every spring and summer, it is set off with blooming flowers and the streams, hence the name Flower Bridge. The larruping point of the bridge lies in that the arch's inverted reflection in water always looks like a full moon. It never changes even though the quantity of water changes.

Heaven Pillar

Heaven Pillar, situated in the east side of Flower Bridge stands as straight as a pillar. It is also called Lotus Stone for it looks like a not-opened lotus. With the height of 10 meters, it is caved with seven Chinese words of “Long lives the Maoism”.

Crescent Mountain

South to the Putuo Mountain is the Crescent Mountain. It was given this name due to the crescent-shaped stone at its belly. The Crescent Pavilion in the mountain is reputed for its vegetarian food which has a history of more than 100 years. Among the vegetarian dishes, the Nun Noodles is the most famous for tasting.

Light of China Square

Light of China Square is between Putuo Mountain and Crescent Mountain. Occupying an area of 13,520 square meters, it boasts of two large-scale arts works which has lit up the whole square. The stone carving murals, made up of over 100 stone carvings reflects the essence of the 5000-year Chinese civilization which combines the ancient four great inventions and the advanced technology into one. Another one named Shi Ji Bao Ding is a four-legged Ding at a height of 4.6 meters (15 feet), symbolizing a peaceful world.
