Being the largest ski resort in Beijing with the most advanced facilities in China, Nanshan Ski Resort is the one and only best place in north China for great skiing and snowboarding.

Nanshan Ski Resort is 80 km northeast of Beijing in Miyun County. In winter, it is the largest ski resort in Beijing with most advanced facilities and most complete pistes in north China. With more than 5000 sets of skiing equipments, the resort is the one and only best place in Beijing for great skiing and snowboarding resorts. Usually, the resort opens in late November or early December when outdoor temperatures drop to below 5°C (41°F) and closes in nest year’s early March.

Pistes in the Resort

The resort has the most complete pistes in north China. The 21 pistes range from beginner to expert, catering the needs for different groups of people. The Wild Snow Park and NIKE 6.0 Nanshan Park are very famous in China. Besides, both the Mogul Slope and Waves Piste are divided into three kinds according to the difficulty.

Among the many pistes, the ‘Wild Snow Park’ which is an off piste tree run, has become the training base for the ski experts. Different piste has different length and slope. The length of the junior ones ranges from 450 meters to 1,000 meters. The senior ones are 160 to 800 meters while the expert one is 600 meters long.

Facilities

The resort is equipped with high-tech snowmaking system introduced from Austria including 17 snow cannons and two snow guns. The facilities also include three high-speed Quads, two 4-man chair cable ways, one 2-man chair lift and 13 rope tows and platter lifts as well as two automatic cycling magic carpets. The advanced facilities make skiing here safer and more interesting.

Of course, Nanshan Ski Resort is more than skiing and snowboarding. The 1,318 meter-long sledding way introduced from German, sledding from Canada and Seasons Toboggan run are also very popular among the visitors to here. The certified instructors can teach the skiers skills how to ride the mountain like a pro.

Dining is pleasant in the resort. Terrace Restaurant & Pub supplies delicious western food, Nanshan Restaurant, Dahuatang Chinese Restaurant and Hot Snack Bar offer good Chinese food, Lavender Tea House has tea and coffee while the Alps Cafe Corner provides good coffee and cakes.

After the ski resort is closed, people can still find interesting activities like outing in spring, grass skiing, water skiing, swimming and hang-gliding in summer as well as picking fruits in autumn. In a word, just enjoy your trip in Nanshan Ski Resort.
