Beijing, also Peking, or Jing for short, is located in northern China borders Tianjin and Hebei Province. The metropolis is the political, cultural and educational center of China with a population of 19,612,368 as of 2010. Beijing is also China’s major transportation hub and the second largest city after Shanghai.
As one of the Four Great Ancient Capitals of China, Beijing city has a history of over 3,000 years. The earliest traces of human habitation in the Beijing municipality were found in Zhoukoudian where Peking Man lived. Beijing became a capital in 13th-century with Mongol occupation of China and since then, it has been the political centre of China for centuries.

July and August is the hottest time with an average temperature of 26.2°C (79.2°F) and the coldest January of −3.7°C (25.3°F). Most rainfall occurs in summer from June to August and the sandstorms appear in spring. September and October, the "Golden Autumn" with cool pleasant weather is the best time to visit Beijing. Beijing Cuisine is also called Mandarin Cuisine, which has been influenced by imperial cooking school and other cooking styles all over China.
