Beijing Nightlife

Beijing nightlife is well known for the diversity it offers for different groups of people. Chinese folk culture shows like Kungfu, Acrobatic, Beijing Opera and puppet shows or strolling on a street are popular among the tourists. The aged local people like to watch Beijing opera or drink in the teahouses while the young people prefer to go to bars, snack streets or shopping. Tianqiao Area is nightlife option for the old Beijinger and the bars are mainly concentrated at Sanlitun (Village), Houhai and Worker's Stadium.

Tianqiaole Tea House offers traditional arts shows of Beijing Opera, Acrobatics, Kungfu and folk songs. Laoshe Tea House is a quiet place where people can experience the famous Chinese tea culture. Liyuan Theater has the genuine Beijing Opera while Wansheng Theatre provides marvelous acrobatic shows. Sunlitun, once the centre of nightlife in Beijing is still popular with expats for its bars such as Nali Patio, Opposite House, Xiu and Room BMK. Houhai Bar Street on the lake side is also a famous nightlife place which is near the Hutong area. The snack hunter can go to the Guijie Street where restaurants offers 24-hour snacks.
