Beijing has a monsoon-influenced continental climate with distinctive four seasons: short windy spring, hot humid summer, cool pleasant autumn and long chilly winter. July and August is the hottest time with an average temperature of 26.2°C (79.2°F) and the coldest January of −3.7°C (25.3°F). Most rainfall occurs in summer from June to August and the sandstorms appear in spring. September and October, the "Golden Autumn" with cool pleasant weather is the best time to visit Beijing. 

Four Seasons in Beijing
Spring - March to May, which is very windy and cold. The season gets little rainfall and sometimes sandstorms. Beijing Student Film Festival and the Yuyuantan Cheery Blossom Festival are held in this season.
Summer - June to August is very hot and sometimes humid before the rainfall. Sunglasses, T-shirts, shorts and skirts are need in this season. You are recommended to boating on the Kunming Lake in Summer Palace or riding a rickshaw to visit Hutongs.
Fall - September to October is cool and sunny. It is the best time to visit most attractions in Beijing such as Great Wall and Fragrant Hills Park.
Winter - November to March is cold and dry and sometimes snows. You need to get bundled up when going out. Tourists coming in this season can celebrate a traditional Chinese New Year or attend many temple fairs.
Best Time to Visit

Beijing is suitable to visit all the year round. However, September to October is the best time according to the weather condition. December to February is also good time to visit due to the many temple fairs and festival atmosphere during Chinese New Year.
