Occupying an area of 1,440,000 square meters with over 800 purebred Siberian tigers, Siberia Tiger Park is the largest wild natural reserve in the world dedicated to the Northeast China Tiger.
Located at the north bank of the Songhua River to the northwest of Harbin, Siberia Tiger Park is the largest wild natural reserve in the world dedicated to the Northeast China Tiger. Occupying an area of 1,440,000 square meters with over 800 purebred Siberian tigers, the park is a place that combines feeding, breeding, scientific research, protecting, re-wilding training and touring.
Northeast China Tiger
Northeast China Tiger, also called Panthera tigris altaica or Siberian tiger, mainly lives in Northeast of China, Siberia area of Russia and North Korea. As the natural environment becomes worse, many species are endangered and some have died out. The Siberian tiger is regarded as an endangered species. It is the largest felid in the world with the male one can grow up to 3 meters length and 350 kilograms weight. The Siberian tiger is reputed as the King of the Forest for its sharp eyes, strong body and earsplitting growl.
Main Attractions
The large park is composed of ten areas, including the young tiger area, the mature tiger area, the king tiger area, a walking area, re-wilding training area, liger area and a platform for viewing the tigers. Besides tigers, visitor can also see white tigers, white lions, lions, lynx, leopards, and black pumas as well as Bengali tigers in the park.
Young Tiger Area
Cubs in Young Tiger Area are mainly two years old. In summer, breeder will throw ducks in the pools to feed them. They love the game of playing with and catching ducks while swimming in the pool. Also visitors can see them playing and fighting with each other in a pool nearby. Moreover, tourists can enjoy the fun of taking pictures of them and appreciating their pretty poses.
African Lion Area
African lions in the area live as a big family, they catch food and share gains together. Have you every seen The Lion King? In African Lion Area, you can see a real life of lions, even the view of fighting for mate.
Liger Area
Ligers are the offspring of male lions and female tigers. They inherit all the macroscopic features of both lions and tigers, and are larger than both of them. However, there are only about 20 ligers all over the world. So feeders raise and train cubs of tiger and lions together to develop their relationships in order to gain more ligers or tigon. In the area, visitors can see tigers playing with lions.
The Siberian Tiger Park hammers at providing natural environment for animals, so they are feed in wild ways. Except in the walking area and the platform for viewing the tigers, tourists must sit in special bus encircled by wire mesh while the tigers roam freely in the fields. If you want take some adventure, you can buy poultry or animals to feed them by yourself and taste the thrilling scene of tigers fighting for food.
