Qianling Park

Qianling Park is a comprehensive sightseeing park in the northwest corner of Guiyang city, and it was built in 1957. Qianling Park is situated on the southwest of Qianling Mountain, which is called as “Mountain No.1 in Guizhou”. There are 1500 species of trees and flowers, and over 1000 precious medicinal materials. With towering ancient trees and densely vegetative cover, there also has group of rhesus monkeys and birds inhabiting. It is famous for brilliant mountain, excellent water, silent forest, spring, and ancient temple.

Macaque Park

Macaque Park was first built in the 1930s. Chiang Kai-shek once met imprisoned patriotic general Zhang Xueliang here on April 9, 1941. After liberation, here was the temporary office space for Guiyang city government. And now it is a place to research wild macaques. There are 400 macaques from 20 at the beginning.

Kylin Cave

Kylin Cave has a recorded history of over 500 years, and it gained the name because a piece of lava down to the land and its shape like a kylin. It is so famous because it once was a place to imprison patriotic generals named Zhang Xueliang and Yang Hucheng. Now it is patriotism education base in Guiyang city.

Animal Zoo

There are many kinds of rare birds and animals in the zoo. Meanwhile it is a place to breed and research wild animals. It was open to public in 1958 and there is francois langur house, panda specimen showroom, liger house, bear pool, deer park and so on. Now there are 50 kinds of rare animals, and among them, national level protected animals are south china tiger, African lion, leopard, peacock, ostrich, and whooping swan etc. Other precious animals like francois langur, king pheasant, golden pheasant with red belly, and silver pheasant and so on. The zoo has become an important place to publicize popular science. The zoo has breed successfully 51 south china tigers. It provides assistance to 13 city zoos, and export too. It has a great progress to scientific research.

Hongfu Temple

Hongfu Temple is one of the Guizhou’s most important Buddhist temples. It is not only a center of Buddhist activities, but also a special tourism spot. Hongfu Temple was built by a monk named Chi Song in 1672. There are spectacular main halls and historical relics preserved well in Hongfu Temple, such as Nine Bend Trail, Ancient Buddha Cave, Fahua Tower, Forest of Stupa, Bronze Bell and so on.

“Nine Bend Trail”

“Nine Bend Trail” is a pathway ascending to Hongfu Temple. It was built in 1688, and the whole path has 383 steps. Along the path, with stone carvings on the cliffs, there are historical relics such as “Ancient Buddha Cave”,” Washing Bo Pool”, and Ling Guan Pavilion”.

Revolutionary Martyr Monument for Liberating Guizhou

It was built in 1956.With an area of 2,000?, it is in the west of Qianling Lake. There is a square with 64 meters wide and 34 meters long in front of monument, which can hold ten thousand people. The monument has six layers, and the highest layer has a thirty-meter stele with the carved characters of “Revolutionary Martyr Monument for Liberating Guizhou” on that. The Martyr Monument is built to commemorate the martyrs died in the war to liberate Guizhou province. It is a main scenic spot in Qianling Park and also an important place to make patriotism education.

Guandao Rock

It is situated in the northeast of the park with dense pines around, and parts are broad leaved forest and ginkgo forest, bamboo forest mainly in the valley. Green is the main color in Guandao Rock .This is a good place for local people to make body-building and leisure activities.
