Overview

The concept of the Fishermans Wharf is derived from Europe and the United States. It represents a kind of European nostalgic type leisure, a unique culture, a kind of common pleasure, a kind of humanistic amorous feelings. In Europe and the United States, there are many famous fisherman's wharf, such as the fisherman's wharf in San Francisco, United States, the one in Montreal, Canada, the one in Liverpool, England, etc.

Construction

The Fishermans Wharf in Macau is invested by Ho Hung San (a billionaire in gambling business) and Chow Kam Fai (a Macau entrepreneur in the tourism, entertainment and gambling industries) with about MOP1.85 billion. The construction took 5 years, before an opening ceremony by Ho Hau-wah, the Chief Executive of Macau and trial operation began on December 31, 2005. After one year of trial operation, the wharf was officially opened on December 23, 2006. It opened a new chapter of the leisure and entertainment tourism in Macau and modeled a new image of Macau.

Scenic Spots

Macau Fisherman's Wharf can be divided into three main sections: Tang Dynasty Fortress, East Meets West and Legend Wharf.

Tang Dynasty Fortress

Tang Dynasty Fortress is a region full of Chinese ancient cultural elements. Most of the buildings are built in the imitation of the Tang-style, antique and splendid. In addition, the palatial quadrangle provides a variety of folk snack and the boat restaurant on the shore supply all kinds of Chinese seafood.

East Meets West

East Meets West mixes oriental traditional concepts with design features of western architectural style, including a 40 meters high artificial volcano, waterfalls, Greek architecture, peseta, an ancient battleship, an Arabian children's play area, a Roman Amphitheater, a characteristic shopping mall and exhibition facilities.

Legend Wharf

Legend Wharf is themed with coast and composed by a complex of European and Latin style architecture. A wide range of recreational facilities are provided, such as a museum, restaurants, musical square, India garden, Chinese courtyard, Electrical Games Center, Water Performance Arena and a Video Games Center.
