Changchun lies on the central part of Liaosong Plain in northeast of China, with Songyuan city to its northwest, Siping city to its southwest and Jilin city to its southeast. As the capital city of Jilin Province, Changchun is the political, economic and cultural center of the province. It covers an area of 20,604 square kilometers with a total population of 7.5 million.
