Guiyang Cuisine
Guiyang Cuisine is also called Qian (Guizhou) Cuisine. It tastes numb and spicy, which are two indispensable elements in Guiyang food. Numb refers to the condiment made from several spices and the spicy is mainly refined from the red pepper.
The most famous dish in Guiyang is Suan Tang Yu, originating not in Guiyang, but in the Miao region, this dish has become a typical dish in Guiyang.
Other famous dishes like Si Wa Wa, Love Bean Curd and Bijie Dumplings are also very popular among the locals.

Suan Tang Yu
It is a soup dish with fish and vegetables. The word "Suan" in this dish's name means "sour", hence the flavor. It is usually served in a big pot full of soup. The fish is very flavorful and the soup is sour and spicy.
Si Wa Wa
It is a thin cake made of flour and stuffed with various sliced cooked vegetables such as the carrot, radish, celerie and other vegetables.
Love Bean Curd
It is a very popular local snack. Slices of bean curds are roasted on a grill untill they turn brown and swell. Then they will be cut open and get stuffed with chilli pepper, soy sauce, vinegar, sesame oild and some other seasonings. It is very spicy but tasty.
