Binhai Road

Binhai Road is one of the best roads for sightseeing connecting Haizhiyun Square and Xinghai Square, which are two main attractions of Dalian. Originally as a military defense road built in the 1970s, the road now covers 12 scenic spots with a total length of 35 kilometers.

Binhai Road is composed of three parts-west part, east part, south part and north part. The south part links Fujiazhuang Beach and Lanhutan Ocean Park, which is the most famous section among four parts. The west part is the shortest section, connecting Fujiazhuang Beach and Xinghai Square. Main attractions in the area include Fujiazhuang Park, Silvery Beach, Gold Beach, White Cloud Mountain Scenic Area, Xinghai Square, etc. There are many hotels, sanatoriums, resorts and villas in the west part. The north part is the precipitous, starting from Haizhiyun Square and ending at Bangchui Island Hotel. The last part is the longest section, covering Bangchui Island, and Lanhutan Ocean Park.

Main Scenic Spots

Binhai Road extends along the coastline of Dalian from the east to the west, as if a jade belt beside the sea. The 12 scenic spots just like a dozen precious stones scattered along it, including Bangchui Island, Laohutan Ocean Park, Yanwoling (Swallow Nest Mountain), Fujiazhuang Beach, Yuexiu Villa and so on.

Fujiazhuang Beach

Fujiazhuang Beach is one of the largest bathing beaches in Dalian, boasting of unique natural scenery with hills on the east and west and vast and golden beach in the middle. In Fujiazhuang Park, there are more facilities with green areas, fountains, pavilions and service building. Besides enjoying natural beauty of the place, you can also participate in a number of beach and water related activities like swimming, boating, fishing and surfing.

Xinghai Park

Xinghai Park is a coastal park combining land park and beach resort. Xinghai (Sea of Star) Bay was named after a huge grotesque stone in the sea, which was regarded as the star stone from the far heaven. Occupying an area of 19 0,000 square meters, the park is a large-scale comprehensive seashore park having several functions of sightseeing the sea, avoiding summer heat and sea bathing.

Xinghai Square

Covering an area of 1,100,000 square meters, Xinghai Square was built to mark the Hong Kong’s return to China in 1997. In Chinese, Xinghai means the Sea of Stars. The square was named because the center of it is a gigantic star-shaped area. Reputed as the largest city square in Asia, Xinghai Square is surrounded by nine dings, meaning the great unity of Chinese Nation. There is a national largest white marble ornamental column standing at the center of the square carved with nine dragons, symbolizing that all Chinese people are the descendants of the dragon.

Bangchui Island

Located at the eastern end of Binhai Road, Bangchui Island processes hills in three sides and vast sea and flat beach in the south. It is a famous scenic spots combining hills, sea, islet and beach. It was so named because a small island erects in the sea as if a wooden club seen from a distance. The well-known Bangchuidao Hotel is the only state guest house in Dalian equipped with the golf course, the tennis hall, the health center, swimming pool and so on.
