Countries listed for 72-hour visa-free stay in China
Since January 1, 2013, there are foreigner visitors from 45 countries who can enjoy a 72-hour visa-free stay in China, and they can go to third country transiting through Shanghai Pudong International Airport (PVG), Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport (SHA) and Beijing Capital International Airport (PEK). Currently, China implements transit policy of 24-hour visa-free stay in China, and this new policy not only facilitates part of transit visitors, but flourishes tourism industry of these two cities.
What is visa-free transit?
Visa-free transit refers to the policy that foreign visitor go to the third country or region through a country, and there is no need applying for visa of transit country and foreign visitor can have a short stay in transit country.

Requirements
The transit visitors from 45 countries holding valid international travel documents, the third country visas and dated air tickets or other certificates could apply for a visa-free stay in Beijing and Shanghai within 72 hours. But their stay is limited in Beijing or Shanghai, and other cities are prohibited.
