Jinan Transportation
Getting into or around Jinan is rather convenient duo to is well-developed network of railway, highway and air transportation. The railways and highways link Jinan with cities around it and plane routes can reach to some big cities like Beijing, Guangzhou and Dalian.

In Jinan, it is very easy to find taxies in the airport, railway station, outside the hotels and restaurants.
There are two main kinds of taxies in Jinan: one kind is, cars of 1,600 cc displacement, and the other kind is, cars of 1,800 cc displacement. The flag-fall price of the former one is CNY7.5 within 3 kilometers and CNY1.4 for each additional kilometer. The latter one is CNY10 and additional fee beyond 3km is CNY2 per kilometer. The waiting time charge is free, if less than five minutes. The vehicles are easily recognized by their rooftop TAXI signs.
Jinan Yaoqiang International Airport is located in Yaoqiang Town, about 30 km northeast to the city center. It is 100 km (62 miles) away from Mount Tai and 170 km (106 miles) away from Qufu City. The airport in Jinan operates flights to Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Guilin, Chengdu, Harbin, Urumqi, Zhangjiajie, Zhengzhou, etc.
There is an airport shuttle bus to the airport every hour. It takes about 1 hour to get there, and costs CNY20 per person. The shuttle bus before 6:00pm starts from the airport to the railway station square bus station and after that time to Yu Quan Sen Xin Hotel. Both two places offers shuttle buses to the airport from 6:00am to 7:00pm ever hour.
Passengers can also take bus No.16 to the airport. To take a taxi, it usually costs a little more than CNY80.

Long Distance Bus
Jinan has several bus stations offering routes to some provincial cities as well as inter-provincial cities like Taiyuan, Shijiazhuang. The Long-Distance Coach Terminal provides several tourist buses to some famous sights inside Shandong Province.
City Bus
There are about 200 bus routes in Jinan. Regular buses charge 1 CNY per person, the bus numbers starting with a K and tour bus charge CNY2. If you have an IC card, and then you can enjoy a 10% discount.
Additionally, at the Jiefang Bridge and Shandong Provincial Sports Center (Bus route: No.129), there are tour buses provided on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays.
Thespacing interval of buses is usually 10-15 minutes. But during rush hours some bus routes can take as short as 1 minute for each bus to start from the terminal.
There are two railway stations in Jinan, Jinan Railway Station and East Railway Station. Jinan Railway Station is on the junction part of Jinghu Railway and Jiaoji Railway, connecting Jinan with some big cities. There even have bullet trains to Beijing and Qingdao. There is a ticket office located on the west side on Floor 1 of Jinan Railway Station. Tickets can be purchased one week in advance and it also deals with the return of tickets.
East Railway Station is the stopover from trains operating between Qingdao- Dandong, Qingdao- Taiyuan and Beijing-Weihai. There is a direct train (Train 2523) starting from Jinan East Railway Station to Luoyang.
