Ancient Sarcophagus Tomb Found in Nyingchi

An ancient sarcophagus tomb has been recently found in Tunggar county, Nang county, Nyingchi Prefecture, the Tibet Autonomous Region. This discovery will play an important role in studying the ancient customs, folk culture and burying rite in Nyingchi Prefecture in the old times.

Profile of the Tomb

1.4 meters long and 0.7 meters wide, the remaining tomb is 0.5 meters high. In the east, west and on the top of the tomb, there is a cyan schist that is 0.05 meters thick each in strip shape. The tomb is filled with cobbles and sand and human beings' bones have also been found in the tomb.

This discovery will play an important role in studying the ancient customs, folk culture and burying rite in Nyingchi Prefecture in the old times.
