Ji'an City

As a prefecture level city of Tonghua, Ji’an City is located in the southeastern of Jilin Province and separated from Manpo, North Korea by the Yalu River. It is one of the three major ports opened to North Korea. With pleasant climate, distinct seasons, beautiful scenery, Ji’an City has been always reputed as a “city of South China in the northeast.” With an area of 3,217 kilometers and a population of 230,000, Ji’an City serves as an important base of the goods in Changbaishan district and other border towns.

With a long history of more then 4,000 years, human culture, numerous historical site and beautiful natural scenery, Ji’an City is a beautiful tourist city and has been listed as a historical and a cultural city by the State Council in China.

Wunu Peak National Forest Park

Built in 1993, Wunu Peak National Forest Park has fourteen scenic spots including Wunu Peak, Shaonu Peak, Chunnv Peak, Cannv Peak, Sight Canyon and marple Ridege, etc. It has an area of 68.6 square kilometers and a forest cover of 94.5 percent. There are 26 mountain peaks, of which 17 tower 1,000 meters above sea level, with the highest being 1,337 meters and the lowest, 653 meters high. More than 1,000 kinds of plants can be found here. With comfortable climate, and green mountains, Wunu Peak National Forest Park is a wonderful place to take a rest.

Yunfeng Lake Scenic Resort

With an altitude of 218.5 meters and an area of 102.5 square kilometers, Yunfeng Lake serves as a symbol of sino-korean friendship ties. Stone Tablet at the Tomb of King Hao Tai

Built in 414, Stone Tablet at the Tomb of King Hao Tai is the tomb of the 19th king of Gaojuli State. The tablet is chiseled on a full block brecciated tuff slightly and takes the shape of a square column. With a height of 6.36 meters and a width about 2 meters, the tablet is inscribed with Chinese characters in neat official script. It is served as an important historical example in the study of calligraphy and provided important information to the study of the establishment and development of Gaojuli State (37-668). The capital city and the tombs of the ancient Gaojuli state have been listed as the world heritage site by the World Heritage Committee in 2004.
