Lies in No.100 Jilin street, Fengman District, Jilin Province, Meteorite Museum is a local comprehensive museum combined with natural science, humanities history and art. It covers an area of 11,700 square meters, with 5,495 square meters exhibition hall and can accommodate with 2,400 audiences at one time. The museum was built in 1962 with one exhibition hall and 22 exhibition rooms.

About 138 pieces of meteorite were found after the activity in 1976 and most of them are preserved in this museum. The heaviest piece weighs about 1,775 kilograms and it is said to be the largest meteorite in the world at present. With large number, heavy weight, wide scatter scope and high scientific value, Jilin meteorite is rare in the world. According to scientific analysis, jilin meteorites belong to olivine, namely bronzite chondrite meteorites. Consisting of nearly 40 kinds of mineral and 18 kinds of elements, Jilin meteorite is an extremely precious universe sample.
