Located in Sha Tin, New Territories in Hong Kong, Sha Tin Racecourse is a top class racetrack in the world, where a number of highly rated races held every year.

As Hong Kong’s second racetrack and the larger one, Sha Tin Racecourse is built and managed by Hong Kong Jockey Club. Opened on October 7th, 1978, Sha Tin Racecourse has both turf and dirt racecourses of three. The turf course measures 1,900 meters in circumference and with a capacity of 85, 000 people. Sha Tin Racecourse is a top class racetrack in the world and holds a lot of international race, which attract the top team from all over the world have their competition here.

Sha Tin Racecourse has two stands, one for the public ane for the membership. One of the world’s largest color screens with a length of 70.4m, which equals to 4500 sets of 52 inches TV set stacked up, is equipped there. The data and result of each game will be displayed vividly on the screen. The racing season is held from September to June. Sha Tin Racecourse is regarded as one of the best racecourse in the world. It is a must see when traveling in Hong Kong. Placeing yourself in the auditorium, you can shout with other horse fans and motivate the right horse moving towards to the end, through which you can experience the fierce and excitement.

If you are not so interested in race, you can visit the Penfold Park, one of the biggest parks in Hong Kong. It is surrounded by the track of Sha Tin Racecourse and with a grass area of more than 20 acres. There are many painted horse statues and artworks. It is closed during horse racing days and Mondays
