Attractions

Badong Shennong Stream flows through three different landscapes in the canyon - Mianzhu Canyon, Parrot Canyon and Longchangdong Canyon. The sceneries on both banks are very beautiful with little open land in the canyon.

Mianzhu Canyon

In the Mianzhu Canyon famous for risk, the cliffs difficult to climb are full of caves with huge stalactites hanging. The riverbed is narrow and the fall is very big. Taking the boat to drift depends on the skill, which is exciting activity.

Parrot Gorge

Parrot Gorge is the most beautiful. The vegetations on both sides are green all year around. A small part of the gorge is called Nianhuatan because the flowers here are brilliant and gaily-colored no matter in winter or summer. Another part is called Trichromatic Spring since the mouths of the small springs gush water with mixed colors.

Longchangdong Gorge

The last valley is Longchangdong Gorge. The distance between two sides is less than 20 meters. Along this stream, you can see the rock groups and the ancient paths along the cliff. On the east coast above the water 150 meters are many small caves with different shades to keep rock coffins, which is clearly visible to see by naked eyes.

Shennong Stream Boatman Tracker

The combination of Tujia ethnic culture and boatman tracker culture is the connotation of tourism culture. The main characteristics of Shennong Stream are Tracker Culture, Tujia Dance Culture and Dragon Boat Racing. The boatman workers’ chant and trackers have been extinct for many years in the Yangtze River, but the trackers as a tourism project in Shennong Stream has been retained. Now, experiencing boatman tracker while enjoying the Tujia guide’s song has become a must for visitors to Yangtze River Cruise.
