    Kunming
    This tour starts around 2:00pm. So make sure you arrive in Kunming before 2:00pm.
    Arrive in Kunming. Pick up at Airport/Hotel/Railway Station in Kunming. Visit Grand View Tower.

    Day 2
    Kunming-Dali
    Visit Stone Forest, Golden Horse and Phoenix Archway, Green Lake Park, The Flower and Bird Market.Take a soft sleeper to Dali at night (train ticket included).

    Dali
    Arrive Dali in the morning. Visit Mt. Cangshan (round trip cable car included), Dali Ancient City, Foreign Tourist Street.

    Dali - Lijiang
    Transfer to Lijiang by car in the morning. Visit Yuquan Park, Square Street, Lijiang Old Town.

    Visit Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, Yak Meadow (round trip cable car included), Jade Water Village, Yufeng Lamasery, Mural in Baisha Village.

    Visit The First Bend of the Yangtze, Tiger Leaping Gorge.
    Transfer to Shangri-la in the afternoon.

    Transfer to Airport in Shangri-la. Shangri-la to Kunming by Air in the morning (air ticket included).
    Day 1 Kunming
    This tour starts around 2:00pm. So make sure you arrive in Kunming before 2:00pm.

    Upon arrival in Kunming, our guide picks you up at the Airport/Hotel/Railway Station in Kunming.

    Then head for Grand View Tower (Daguanlou), a typical well-preserved wooden pagoda. The park consists of hills, ponds, pavilions and rockeries in a style similar to that of the gardens of the Yangtze River Delta.
     
    Day 2 Kunming>>Dali
    In the morning, the guide will pick you up from your hotel in Kunming.

    Today you have a chance to explore the Stone Forest, known as the "First Wonder of the World." Walking through the Stone Forest, you can appreciate the natural stone masterpieces in various shapes.

    Then stroll around Flower and Bird Market. Later visit Golden Horse and Phoenix Archway, the symbolic building of Kunming and the thriving shopping area.

    At last, visit Green Lake Park, one of the most favorite parks in Kunming and the scenery is one of the eight most beautiful scenes in the city.

    Take a soft sleeper to Dali at night (train ticket included).
     
    Day 3 Dali
    Arrive Dali in the morning and transfer to your hotel for a short break.

    After lunch, you can explore Mt. Cangshan by cable car (round trip cable car included). Mt. Cangshan enjoys great reputation for its snow, clouds, springs and marble. Then head for a local handcraft manufactory to experience the process of Tie Dying Cloth with Wax. Later, enjoy the houses of Bai People in Xizhou. And you have an opportunity to appreciate San Dao Cha (three-course of Bai People) and Bai's Performances.

    Then you wander among the Dali Ancient City and stroll around Foreign Tourist Street.
     
    Day 4 Dali - Lijiang
    Today transfer to Lijiang by car. After arrived, drive to Yuquan Park, where the enormous Black Dragon Pool lies. It provides a haven for bird and water-life, with spectacular plants. Surrounding the pool, within the park's landscape, are ancient monuments such as the Longshen Temple, the Deyue Pavilion, the Suocui Bridge and the Hanyue Stage.

    Then head for the Square Street at the core of Lijiang Old Town. Four main streets radiate from Square Street and extend to the four different directions from that point. Owing to its special characteristics of ethnic culture, urban layout and historical authenticity.

    At last, scroll on Lijiang Old Town, a well-preserved old city of ethnic minorities with brilliant culture, is the center of Naxi Ethnic Minority Autonomous County in Yunnan
     
    Day 5 Lijiang
    Today you continue the sightseeing of Lijiang Old Town.

    Visit Jade Dragon Snow Mountain. From a distance the snow-covered and fog-enlaced mountain looks like a dragon flying among the clouds, hence it gets the name. It has been considered as the soul of both Lijiang City and Naxi nationality. Reach the Yak Meadow by cable car (round trip cable car included) and enjoy an amazing view.

    Then visit the Dongba Valley of Minorities in Jade Dragon Snow Mountain Valley and Yufeng Lamasery on the slopes of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain.

    Lastly, appreciate Mural in Baisha Village. The Baisha Mural was made from 1385 to 1619, employing the eclectic artist energies of Chinese Taoist, Tibetan and Naxi Buddhists and local dongba shamans.
     
    Day 6 Lijiang>>Shangri-la
    Morning after breakfast, head for Tiger Leaping Gorge (Hutiao Gorge). Around 15 km in length, the gorge is located where the river passes between 5,596 meters Jade Dragon Snow Mountain and 5,396 meters Haba Snow Mountains in a series of rapids under steep 2000 meters cliffs. Legend says that in order to escape from a hunter, a tiger jumped across the river at the narrowest point (still 25 meters wide), hence the name.

    On the way to Tiger Leaping Gorge (Hutiao Gorge), you can overlook the First Bend of the Yangtze, which creates beautiful and marvelous views that startle the imagination.
     
    Day 7 Shangri-la
    Today you visit Songzanlin Monastery, the largest Tibetan Buddhist monastery in Yunnan. The monastery is full of treasures. There are a lot of golden figures of Buddha josses, golden lamps, Tibetan lections, silver censers and so on. All of these are wonderful collections accumulated from each dynasty. They are precious productions made by people of both Tibet nationality and Han nationality.

    Then you explore the Lake Bitahai. In the center of the lake stands an islet shaped like a boat sailing in the lake. You feel intoxicated by the aura, beauty and tranquility.

    Later, move to Lake Shuduhu. Around the lake, there are dense forest of fir spruce and birch. There lives different wild animals such as musk deer, bear, leopard, golden cat, deer, pheasant etc. Lastly, you have an opportunity to visit a Tibetan family.
     
    Day 8 Shangri-la>>Kunming
    Transfer to Airport in Shangri-la and go to Kunming by air (air ticket included).

    Tipping is now considered by many locals to be a part of their normal remuneration. However, this is a matter of personal discretion. You may use following as a reference.
    Suggested Tipping: for local guide: $8 to $10 per person (guest) per day, for driver: $4 to $5 per person (guest) per day.

The letter must be signed by the lead name on the booking and once we receive it you should expect to receive a cancellation letter within 24 hours. If you do not then please contact us to ensure your letter has been received.
    To cover the cost of processing your cancellation and to compensate us for the risk that we may not be able to resell your travel arrangements, we make a cancellation charge on the scale shown below. The person who made the booking is responsible for paying this charge. The size of the charge depends on when we receive your cancellation notice or letter or how you would like us to deal with your payment providing that we have received your full payment for the tours.

    A: Hi, the average temperature during that time will be around 15C. You can take along cardigan, overcoat and thick trousers. As there is big temperature difference in the daytime and at nights, you can also prepare some relatively warm clothes to keep warm.

    vinniyang Q: Can i know the timetable of overnight trains from Kunming to Dali? 2012.12.28

    A: There are two scheduled trains runing from Kunming to Dali. K9632/K9633 departs Kunming at 23:10 and arrives Dali at 06:32. And K9636/K9637 departs Kunming at 23:39 and arrives Dali at 07:06.

    Mitchiemoo Q: Hi mate, i will be going to all this places like Lijiang, Shangri-La, Kuming and all the tourist spot this Dec. Can someone please tell me about the toilet conditions over there. Do i still need to bring an unbrella along? Would be grateful to know in advance. Thanks. mate! 2012.10.31

    A: As i know, the toilet conditions in Lijiang, Shangri-la, Kunming are not as good as that in big cities, most of the toilets are Chinese style, except some of the big hotels or restaurants have western style toilet....As for the umbrella, you'd better to bring one, it is very necessary and important during your tour..

    A: Yes. It is a good time to visit Yunnan in winter since it will not be very crowded and the weather there is not very bad. Although the temperature is not too low in winter, you should prepare the warm clothes for night and sunglass during the day.
