LucyA693 Q: hey anyone out there in Tibet! can you help me by telling me what the summer temp, winter temp, and how much rain they get in Tibet; China? Thank you 2012.10.12

A: Weather in Tibet is cool in summer, but excruciatingly cold in winter. Lhasa Weather is typical Tibet climate. The temperature may exceed 29 degrees C (84 degrees F) in summer, it can also plummet to minus 16 degrees C (3 degrees F) in winter. The average rainfall in summer can reach to 117mm while in winter, it only about 1mm.

Tosh33 Q: Can we visit Lhasa by ourselves? We are Americans. 2012.5.10

A: Foreigners going to Tibet need to have a Tibet Travel Permit. You have to go through travel agencies to arrange it for you. So I'm afraid you can't travel by your own there.
