Golden Horse and Phoenix Archway is a collective name of two archways. Golden Horse Mountain is in the east and Phoenix Archway is in the west. So the name comes from the two archways. A tower built during 738-902 lies in the south of Golden Horse and Phoenix Archway, which reflects the ancient civilization of Golden Horse and Phoenix Archway. The ancient Golden Horse and Phoenix Archway was demolished in the 10 years of turmoil. The building now was rebuilt in 1999.

The unique of Golden Horse and Phoenix Archway is that here may appear a wonder in the world in a certain time. There has been such a day. When the sun is going down, the golden light shines from the west to the Phoenix Archway whose reflection is in the east. At the same time, the moon is rising from the east. The silver light projects onto the Golden Horse whose reflection is in the west. And finally, the two shadows connect. Reportedly, because of the running angle relation among the sun, the moon, and the earth, this spectacle can be seen 60 years once.
