Something about Kashgar

Kashgar is in the western-most part of China, which played the role of the western junction of the southern and northern sections of the Silk Road within China, and the traffic hub and gate for China's economic and cultural exchanges with Western countries as early as 2,100 years ago.

As one of the oldest and wealthiest oases in the western Tarim Basin, in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, Kashgar has long been the most important tourist destination in southern Xinjiang.
